META,Fundamental VR and Orbis Flying International Hospital have united to ensure that surgeons worldwide receive the latest training utilising Fundamental VR technology to effectively combat cataracts, a predominant cause of preventable blindness. With cataracts contributing to 65% of global blindness cases, addressing this issue is imperative, particularly considering the affordable cure priced at only $24.00. Utilising Fundamental VR, surgeons can train with accuracy and precision, enhancing their skills for better patient outcomes. In collaboration with Meta Orbis International and Dr. Shroff’s Charity Hospital, we embarked on a transformative journey across India. Our mission involved engaging with medical professionals and patients across diverse settings, from bustling cities to remote villages.Through first hand experiences in operating theatres, we witnessed the remarkable impact of cataract surgery—a true miracle unfolding before our very eyes.The team devoted three months to meticulously documenting this project ensuring that every aspect of our journey and its significance was captured with utmost detail and kindness.
